Share your text sets here. Explain what subject and what topic you are covering. Then give a detailed list of titles, articles, encyclopedia entries, blogs, etc. you will include. Include links to websites where possible.
The topic that I choose to use for my Text Set is social development. The first website that I sent to was: http://www.esrnational.org/index.php?location=pages&l=hs&link=1000020 This website gives you some background information about working with students. It also provides lessons in social development that deal with conflict resolution, differences in students etc.
The second piece that I found was an article written by Margaret Harris at Peabody College on conflict resolution. This article gave excellent information about how to help students deal with conflict resolution. http://earchive.vanderbilt.edu/bitstream/handle/1803/1224/HarrisCapstone.doc?sequence=1
The next article on the following website that I saw gives you information that helps you to develop understanding of yourself to build and maintain a positive self-concept. It also shares a survey that allows students to see if they have a positive or negative attitude. http://www.acrna.net/i4a/pages/index.cfm?pageid=3579
The next article I found was on Eric. The call number is #ED326557and the title is Factors Influencing the Social, Emotional, and Academic Development of High School College-Prep Students. This article discusses the effects of several variables on high school students. http://www.eric.ed.gov
Just Listen by Sarah Dessen is a novel about a teenage girl dealing with issues of abandonment. She is dreading starting her junior year of high school. The book reveals how she copes with the situations going on in her life.
Social Skills Picture Book for High School and Beyond by Jed Baker is a picture book that allows students to visually see different activities that students are involved in. The difficulty lies, not in the new ideas, but in escaping the old ones, which ramify, for those brought up as most of us have been, into every corner of our minds.

This site has the book actually available to read on-line chapter by chapter. This would be useful for in-class reading. That way, students who forget their book have no excuse for not participating! (This site can also be found by looking through www.webenglishteacher.com.)

This site focuses on how to make this historical fable more approachable to modern readers. It uses a theme of the book (how the strong prey on the weak) to compare Animal Farm with modern speeches, modern humane and charity organizations, etc.
